OUR RESEARCH INITIATIVES

The research projects funded by the RQRV are organized into four main themes (TC) and explore a wide range of critical issues related to aging, such as cognitive aging, mental health, physiology, living environments and social interactions, health policies, as well as health and social care services.

Health assessment for Older Adults

Discover a series of validated and standardized tests and questionnaires for assessing the biopsychosocial health of French-speaking Quebec seniors.

Common Research Platforms in Aging

Consortium for the Early Identification of Alzheimer’s Disease (CIMA-Q)

Using cohort data, the CIMA-Q research group is dedicated to identifying the early signs of Alzheimer's disease, with the goal of preventing or slowing its progression.

NuAge Database and Biobank

The NuAge Database and Biobank provide data from a cohort of nearly 2,000 individuals to researchers with research privileges at an institution recognized for research funding management.

NuAge is a unique cohort of older adults who have been followed since 2003 as part of the Quebec Longitudinal Study on Nutrition and Successful Aging. It provides the scientific community with clinical, nutritional, functional, and social data, as well as biological samples, to support secondary research projects on the determinants of healthy aging.

Student Members

The network includes over one hundred master’s, doctoral, and postdoctoral students, who are integrated into the thematic clusters through their research supervisors.

We also have a student committee dedicated to identifying and enhancing student involvement within the aging research network.
