RESEARCH OBJECTIVES
Strengthen collaboration among research teams in Quebec, across Canada, and internationally.
Catalyze the development and implementation of both fundamental and applied research aimed at understanding, promoting, and maintaining the cognitive and psychological well-being of older adults, while taking into account life-course trajectories, environmental contexts, and population diversity.
THEMATIC AREAS
- Investigation of cognitive, psychological, and neurophysiological mechanisms underlying aging through both fundamental (e.g., animal, tissue, and cellular models) and applied research.
- Analysis of protective and risk factors, particularly modifiable ones, influencing the cognitive and psychological well-being in older adults.
- Development and validation of innovative assessment tools and intervention programs for cognition and mental health in older populations, with a particular focus on their promotion and implementation across diverse settings.
