Shared Research Platforms on Aging

Platform Lead

Aging Animal Colonies

This platform currently provides access to two animal models:

  • a LOU rat colony (a unique model of healthy longevity)

  • a C57BL/6J mouse colony (a model of aging)

It supports research on muscular, cognitive, and metabolic health, and contributes to both fundamental and translational research.

Access is open to the RQRV community as well as to external researchers, with an emphasis on promoting collaborative research.

NuAge Database and Biobank

This platform includes data from 1,793 healthy adults aged 67 to 84 at baseline, who were followed over five assessment visits.

The NuAge cohort includes a unique subgroup of nonagenarians and centenarians. Collected data cover more than 1,000 variables related to lifestyle, environment, social interactions, health status, body composition, and physical and cognitive functioning.

A centralized, computerized biobank stores the biological samples collected.

Access to the data is open and governed by a structured access framework.

CIMA-Q Cohort

This cohort includes 412 individuals aged 65 and older who are at risk of cognitive decline. It contains longitudinal psychosocial, clinical, neuropsychological, neuropsychiatric, and neuroimaging data, as well as biological samples.

The database can be accessed through a formal application process submitted to the CIMA-Q access committee.
